About SRI
The Strategic Research Institute (SRI) was established to strengthen APU's international research ecosystem and position the University as a globally connected research institution. SRI serves as the University's central platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, international partnerships, research capability development, and high-impact scholarly output. Through its university-wide Research Cluster framework, SRI connects researchers across disciplines, facilitates global collaborations, and advances research aligned with Malaysia's national priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

APU Research Clusters
APU’s Research Clusters provide a university-wide framework that promotes cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary collaboration across academic schools.
APU continues to strengthen its research ecosystem through seven Strategic Research Clusters designed to advance high-quality, interdisciplinary, and globally engaged scholarship. These clusters bring together expertise across APU’s academic schools, creating a shared platform where technology, business, engineering, finance, social sciences, creative media, hospitality, psychology, education, and digital learning interact to address complex societal, economic, and environmental challenges.
The Research Clusters also serve as strategic platforms for connecting APU researchers with international academics, universities, research institutes, and industry partners. Through these platforms, researchers can identify shared areas of expertise, develop joint publications and research projects, pursue international grants, and establish long-term global research partnerships.
